Here’s what’s on an encore edition of Randy’s Vinyl Tap for 15/16 July 2017
On this encore edition of Vinyl Tap the exploration of the boogie woogie continues with more great tunes as Randy Bachman continues his look at this popular music style. The form first appeared on piano and featured a walking bass line that really kept the beat moving. It was the constant motion that led some researchers to suggest the feel was inspired by the sound of a steam locomotive. It was a style that became very popular in dance halls in the 1920’s and spilled over to jazz and popular music. Rock and rollers embraced it too… bands including ZZ Top, T Rex, Lynrd Skynrd and many others.
So be sure to put on your boogie shoes and be sure to tune in to the Tap.
