Here’s what’s on of Randy’s Vinyl Tap for 01/02 April 2017
This week, the Vinyl Tap spotlight shines on two more rock and roll luminaries as Randy Bachman takes a look at the careers of a couple of Jeffs… Jeff Lynne and Jeff Beck.
Both were born in England but in very different parts of the country. Jeff Lynne was born in the industrial midlands near Birmingham and Jeff Beck was born in a southern suburb of London. Both men were drawn to guitar at an early age and both had rather humble first instruments… Jeff Lynne was given a guitar that cost his father two pounds and Jeff Beck made his own. And both went on to have huge success in the music industry as songwriters, session players and front men in their own bands.
The playlist this week features performances by Beck and Lynne including “Strange Magic”, “Spanish Boots”, “Evil Woman”, “Down Down Down”, “Can’t Get I Out of My Head”, “’Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers” and many others.
To hear much more from Electric Light Orchestra and The Jeff Beck Group be sure to tune in to the Tap.
