Randy Bachman

Here’s what’s on Randy’s Vinyl Tap for 08/09 Oct 2016

On this week’s edition of Vinyl Tap Randy Bachman’s journey along the vinyl highway involves a tale of two… no, not cities.… Steves.
The two Steves in this story are Steve Winwood and Steve Miller. While one was born in England and the other in the United States, they have quite a bit in common. Steve Winwood began playing in a band when he was eight years old. Steve Miller formed his first band when he was twelve. Winwood backed blues legends including BB King and Howlin’ Wolf when they toured England. Miller also played with Howlin’ Wolf but in the US.
Steve Miller released his first single in 1965 and Steve Winwood appeared on his first single release with Traffic in 1964.
Both have gone on to have long and successful careers and the playlist this week includes some of their best.
It’s a tale of two Steves so whether you fly like an eagle or roll with it, if you see a chance take it and be sure to tune in to the Tap.
