Randy Bachman

Here’s what’s on Randy’s Vinyl Tap for 11/12 Feb 2017

On this edition of Vinyl Tap Randy Bachman takes a look at another pair of music-makers who share a first name…. and this time the spotlight is on Paul Simon and Paul McCartney.
Though the two were based on opposite sides of the Atlantic, they had quite a bit in common. Our pair of Pauls is just about the same age. Simon’s dad was an amateur musician and so was McCartney’s.
They are both hugely talented songwriters and they started creating their first tunes while still in their early teens. Both began their rise to stardom as part of a well-known group. Paul Simon was half of the duo Simon and Garfunkel while Paul McCartney was a member of the Beatles. And each of them has gone on to have amazing careers and success as solo artists.
Between them, Paul Simon and Paul McCartney have written hundreds of songs that have enriched popular music for over 50 years.
So whether you’re looking for a bridge over troubled waters or the mull of Kintyre, be sure to tune in to the Tap!
